Sunday 26th April:
6am, wake up and get ready…I love this class and it’s a really packed one today with a handful of new people, so I’m nervous….
I arrive at the Whitworth at 8:30am. Great, I have a good half hour to settle in and gather my thoughts.
A class of 29, five new people, and the others all regulars. I’ll never stop feeling nervous about teaching. I didn’t feel I got into my ‘teaching zone’ today but had positive feedback and that always helps.. Stayed back chatting to my regulars for a while,
Sundays always so relaxed and fun!
Monday 27th April:
Another 6am start… Mondays are busy and I must pace myself.
The class is full and the room layout becomes a challenge.
Home for lunch and admin tasks, a walk in the park and home for a quick nap.
Webinar in the afternoon on sciatica and then I plan my evening classes.
Two classes back to back and I’m pleased that the room has been deep cleaned as I requested
Everyone is amazing in this class (because many are long term attendees) and I love watching their technique. Home and not in bed til 12:30am.
Tuesday 28th April:
I have a lie in today til about 8:30am then I have a lazy morning without my phone.
At 12pm I’ve got a homeopathy webinar and then a meeting with my supervisor.
I plan my class for the evening and cycle to Chorlton high school. I evaluate my class and scrutinise myself afterwards. I don’t feel quite myself teaching this week after having trouble with a new client...
I'm not going to feel uncomfortable in my classes!
It’s my job to protect my energy and the energy of the group and that means making some tough decisions sometimes..
Wednesday 29th April:
Day off.
Thursday 30th April:
I’m tired. I look tired and I sound tired (hopefully only to myself)but I power through.
Friday 31st April:
After class I attend a Worksop on alignment. The more I learn the more I realise there are so many different ways to teach. Am I too attached to an ‘outdated' philosophy of Pilates? But then I remember the fundamentals are timeless for a reason.
